Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-27
These Terms govern the relationship between CODFY Co., Ltd. (the "Company") and you regarding your use of "Signito" (the "Service"), an end-to-end encrypted messenger.
1. Purpose & Scope
These Terms take effect when you sign up for or use the Service and set out the rights and obligations between the Company and you. If you do not agree to them, you may not use the Service.
2. Definitions
The terms used in these Terms have the meanings below; terms not defined here follow applicable law and ordinary usage.
- Content: all information exchanged or posted through the Service, such as text, images, audio, video, and files
- Uploaded Content: content you post directly to the Service, such as a profile image or status message
- Premium: add-on features and entitlements provided via a one-time paid in-app purchase
- Credit: the remaining Premium entitlement, expressed in days
- Gift: transferring purchased Premium or your Credit to another user
- Team: a Premium feature for managing members and applying security policies at the organization level
- Individual Terms: terms, policies, or guidelines the Company sets separately for specific features (e.g., Team)
3. Effect & Amendment of Terms
The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law, including the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions. When it does, it will announce the change, the amended content, and the effective date in the Service or on this site at least 15 days before the effective date.
For changes that are unfavorable or material to users, the Company will announce them at least 30 days in advance and, where feasible, notify users individually (e.g., by email). The announcement will state that a user who does not object within the notice period is deemed to have agreed to the change.
If you do not agree to the amended Terms, you may terminate the agreement by withdrawing your membership.
4. Account & Recovery Code
You create an account with an ID and password and are responsible for keeping your registration information true and accurate. You must safely store the recovery code shown once at sign-up.
Your password and recovery code are processed and stored only as a non-reversible hash, so the Company cannot see them in plaintext, and the private encryption keys used to decrypt messages stay on your device. As a result, if you lose both your password and recovery code, no one — including the Company — can recover your account or conversations.
Your account belongs to you and may not be transferred, lent, or inherited. You are responsible for managing your account and credentials against unauthorized use, and for losses arising from your failure to secure them. You may sign in on multiple devices, subject to any device-count limit set by the Company.
5. Use by Minors
The Service is available only to individuals aged 14 or older. A minor must obtain the consent of a legal representative before using the Service.
6. User Obligations
You must comply with applicable law, these Terms and any Individual Terms, and the usage policies announced by the Company, and use the Service for its intended purpose.
7. Prohibited Conduct & User Safety
The Company maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users; violations may result in immediate content removal, restriction of use, or account suspension without prior notice.
To address objectionable content and abusive behavior, the Company provides in-app tools for you to report another user or a specific message and to block other users. Reports are reviewed by the Company and may lead to measures such as content removal, use restriction, or account suspension. When you block another user, that user can no longer contact you or start a 1:1 conversation with you, and any existing 1:1 conversation between you — and its contents — is deleted on both users’ devices and cannot be recovered. A blocked user’s earlier messages may, however, remain visible in group conversations.
When using the Service, you must not engage in any of the following.
- Infringing the law or others’ rights (intellectual property, reputation, privacy, etc.) or distributing unlawful or harmful information
- Spamming, sending indiscriminate messages to many recipients, or adding other users to friends or groups without consent
- Impersonating the Company or a third party, or spreading false information
- Using bots, cheats, or automation, or exploiting vulnerabilities, to disrupt normal operation of the Service
- Reverse-engineering, disassembling, or decompiling the Service without authorization
- Unlawfully obtaining or using another person’s account or credentials, or providing them to a third party
- Using the Service for crime, commercial advertising, soliciting unwanted contact, or other purposes unrelated to its intended use
8. End-to-End Encryption & Content
Messages and attachments you exchange are end-to-end encrypted on the sending device before transmission and storage, and the Company cannot read their contents because it holds no decryption keys. The Company receives no license to your Content beyond what is needed to provide and operate the Service, and does not use it for advertising or analytics.
Rights to Uploaded Content belong to you or the rightful owner. The Company has no duty to back up your data or Content and is not responsible for data loss caused by your loss of a password, recovery code, or device encryption key.
Because of end-to-end encryption, the Company cannot read Content, but where a violation is established through reports, legal process, or clear evidence, it may take measures such as deleting Content or restricting use, in accordance with these Terms.
9. Paid Services & In-App Purchases
Premium is provided through one-time in-app purchases on the Apple App Store and Google Play; each purchase adds entitlement (Credit) for the period you buy. Premium does not auto-renew and returns to the free tier when the period ends. Payment-method details such as card numbers are handled by the stores; the Company does not hold them.
You may gift Premium to another user. To prevent refund abuse, gifting may be restricted for a period after purchase, and once a gift has been applied to the recipient, refunds may be limited.
Payment, refunds, and withdrawal of purchase follow each store’s policies and applicable law; see our Refund Policy for details.
10. Team Service
Team lets an organization manage members and apply security policies. Only Premium users can create a team, and each user may create only one team. Additional fees may apply to Team.
Team billing may run as individual billing by each member or as group billing where the owner pays for all members; under group billing, the owner is responsible for members’ fees.
Security policies set by a team (such as caps on message retention and inactivity-based auto-deletion) take precedence over the affected member’s personal settings. A team’s admin or owner may, under the policy, remove members from team chat rooms or clear those rooms. Separate Individual Terms may apply to Team and, where they differ from these Terms, the Individual Terms prevail for Team.
11. Provision, Change & Suspension of Service
The Company may improve or change all or part of the Service, and features provided free of charge may change at the Company’s discretion.
The Company may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service in the following cases and will notify users before or after where feasible: (1) system maintenance, (2) force majeure such as natural disaster, war, or power outage, (3) system failure or overload, or (4) an urgent need to protect the safety of users or third parties or the public interest.
12. Restriction, Termination & Withdrawal
Where a user violates, or is reasonably judged likely to violate, the law or these Terms or Individual Terms, the Company may, to operate the Service properly, take measures such as deleting Content, restricting use, or suspending or deleting the account. The same applies where a user does not use the Service for one year or more, except as otherwise provided in Individual Terms.
Except in urgent or unavoidable cases, the Company gives prior notice of the reason for and timing of the measures in the preceding paragraph, and you may object to them through the method the Company designates. If the Company finds the objection justified, it resumes your use without delay.
You may set your account to be deleted automatically after a period of inactivity; once that period passes, your account and related data may be deleted automatically.
You may withdraw membership at any time in the app via Settings → My Profile. On withdrawal or account deletion, group chat rooms you own are deleted, you are removed from rooms you have joined, and your 1:1 chats, messages, and files are deleted. Deleted accounts and data cannot be recovered and are not retained by the Company. In-app purchase transaction records are kept by the payment processors (Apple/Google) under their own policies.
13. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability
The Company does not warrant, expressly or implicitly, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free or fit for a particular purpose, except in cases of the Company’s willful misconduct or gross negligence.
To the extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for damages caused by force majeure, your fault, or failures of third-party services (stores, push, cloud, etc.), and is not liable for indirect, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This clause does not exclude liability for the Company’s willful misconduct or gross negligence, or liability under mandatory consumer-protection laws.
14. Third-Party Services
The Service includes or integrates with services provided by third parties, such as Apple and Google (app stores, in-app purchases, push notifications) and Amazon Web Services (cloud infrastructure). Responsibility for those third-party services lies with the respective providers, and their terms may also apply.
15. Notices & Personal Information
The Company may give notices to users via in-Service announcements, postings on this site, or the contact details you have registered (where available).
The Company processes and protects your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy; for details on how personal information is processed, see the Privacy Policy.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision applies to the extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions remain in effect.
17. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes between the Company and users relating to the Service are resolved before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable laws.
